Global nightlife: the clubbing sector at the UN Summit

In September 2025, global nightlife will take center stage on the international scene. The International Nightlife Association (INA) has been officially invited to the prestigious United Nations Leaders Summit in New York City. This is a historic moment – for the first time, the nightlife sector is receiving such clear recognition as part of the global conversation about the future of our planet.
The invitation was issued by the United Nations Assistant Secretary-General himself, further confirming the importance that is now attributed to club culture. Global nightlife is no longer seen solely as a form of entertainment – it is becoming a platform for real social, cultural, and economic impact.
New York: a global hub for sustainable development initiatives
The summit will take place at The Nest Climate Campus at the Javits Center in New York City – a venue where leaders from business, politics, civil society, and the United Nations will come together. This event brings together voices from around the world to collectively shape actions aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
INA’s participation in this event marks the inclusion of the entertainment industry in the global debate about the future of our planet. Global nightlife is gaining a meaningful platform to help shape solutions that address today’s climate, social, and economic challenges.

INA as the voice of global nightlife
Michael Kill, Vice President of INA and CEO of NTIA, emphasized that this is a major opportunity for the industry: “This is a moment where we can show how important club culture is to cities and communities across the world.” He also noted that nightlife is not just about parties – it’s an ecosystem that drives development, creates jobs, and builds the identity of local communities.
Joaquim Boadas, Secretary General of INA, highlighted the organization’s long-standing efforts to implement responsible practices in clubs worldwide. “We want nightlife to be part of the global sustainability strategy. And we’re ready to prove it through concrete actions,” he stated.
Sustainability in the rhythm of the night
At the summit, INA will present specific initiatives being implemented by clubs and organizations within its network. These include efforts related to energy efficiency, venue safety, inclusive hiring, and waste reduction. The goal is to demonstrate that nightlife can be not only vibrant and engaging but also responsible and sustainable.
More and more clubs around the world – including venues like level 27 in Warsaw – are adopting practices aligned with the UN goals. These places not only attract guests with music and stunning city views from the 27th floor but also deliver top-tier standards in both comfort and ethical business conduct.
What this means for the future of nightlife
INA’s presence at the UN summit is not just about prestige – it’s a real opportunity to shape the future. Global nightlife now has the chance to help set international standards, form strategic partnerships, and attract investment focused on sustainable development.
It’s also a strong incentive for clubs like level 27 to go even further, adopt innovative solutions, and establish themselves as regional leaders. The future of nightlife is not just great fun – it’s a responsibility that holds the power to drive meaningful change.
