UN and nightlife – a new era for the club industry

At first glance, the UN and nightlife may seem like completely distant worlds. And yet – recent events show that international institutions are increasingly paying attention to what happens after dark. The club industry, previously often treated as pure entertainment, is now entering the halls of global discussions about the economy, sustainability and security. And it’s all thanks to the activities of the International Nightlife Association.
INA as an official UN partner – what does this mean for the industry?
The International Nightlife Association has just been officially recognized as a provider of advisory services to as many as 29 organizations within the UN structure – including WHO, UNESCO, WTO and UN Women. This gives nightlife an international voice and a seat at the table where decisions affecting the future of cities, economies and society are made. The organization also has consultative status with ECOSOC and CoNGO, making it one of the key players representing the club industry worldwide.
Among other things, this cooperation means access to UN procurement platforms, which can lead to projects on an international scale – from improving club safety to implementing policies that support responsible entertainment. It also sends a signal to local authorities that nightlife is no longer just the domain of music and lights, but a viable sector supporting social and economic development.
Sustainable nightlife in the eyes of international organizations
The UN and nightlife are beginning to increasingly cross paths precisely because of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The club industry, as part of tourism, culture and urban life, has a huge impact on local communities and the environment. That’s why INA’s efforts are focused on promoting an entertainment model that is not only fun, but also responsive to global challenges.
Topics such as reducing energy consumption, responsible use of resources, as well as gender equality or anti-violence, are also becoming more present in the club world. Organizations such as UN Women and WHO are supporting solutions that make nightlife safer, more inclusive and accessible to all – regardless of gender, background or social status.

How does cooperation with the UN affect event security?
One key area of INA’s work that is of particular interest to the UN is the issue of security. It is not only about physical protection in clubs, but also about countering sexual violence, promoting responsible alcohol consumption or educating about risky behavior. The UN and nightlife thus meet on common ground: concern for human welfare.
Clubs that implement international security standards can not only improve their image, but also count on new opportunities for cooperation with global partners. What’s more, such measures are increasingly appreciated by guests – who choose places where they feel truly safe. It’s a change that benefits everyone.
New opportunities for clubs and event promoters
With INA’s registration in the UNGM (United Nations Global Marketplace) system, new opportunities for funding, collaboration and international projects are opening up. For clubs, event promoters and the nightlife sector as a whole, this is a chance to enter a whole new level of operation – not only artistically, but also in terms of business.
Partnering with international organizations can also mean greater visibility for local initiatives – including those implemented in Poland. level 27, as one of the most recognizable nightclubs in Warsaw, can draw inspiration from INA’s activities and implement solutions that are appreciated globally. This is a good time to think globally and act locally – with a view of the capital from the 27th floor.

level 27 and world nightlife trends
Clubs like level 27 have long proven that nightlife can go hand in hand with quality, safety and a unique experience. High above the city, in the heart of Warsaw, a space is being created that fits in with global trends – not only in music, but also in society. Guests today want more than just a good time – they are looking for an atmosphere, safety and ideas they can identify with.
The cooperation of such venues with international standards – for example, on anti-violence or sustainable space management – could become the next step in the development of the Polish club scene. And with the UN and nightlife speaking a common language today, it’s worth listening to what can come out of this dialogue – including for you as an event attendee.
The future of the club industry in light of the UN
The inclusion of nightlife in the global conversation on sustainable development is a watershed moment. The UN and nightlife, though once distant, are now moving together toward responsible, conscious and open partying. It’s an opportunity for the entire industry – and perhaps a new reason for you to look at club life from a slightly different perspective. From the level of the 27th floor.
