Solidarity with Valencia: Support campaign for flood victims
The congresses scheduled for 19 and 20 November and the Golden Moon Awards gala in Valencia have been suspended as a gesture of solidarity with those affected by the storm in the region. The funds raised by the campaign, organised by the International Nightlife Association (INA) and Spain Nightlife, will be donated to the Valencia Food Bank, the Valencia Red Cross and Caritas Diocesana.
Support campaign for Valencia
The International Nightlife Association and Spain Nightlife today announced the launch of a fundraising drive for those affected by the floods that hit the Valencia region. Under the slogan ‘Nightlife Stands With Valencia’, the campaign enables nightlife venues in Spain and around the world, DJs, customers, as well as brands and industry partners, to make donations to support those affected. The funds raised will be donated to the Valencia Food Bank, the Valencia Red Cross and Caritas Diocesana.
To support the campaign, a special bank account has been opened where donations can be made by adding your name and the message ‘#SOSValencia’. It is also possible to make anonymous donations. The campaign organisers intend to publish lists of donors on social media every week to express their gratitude. Donations can be made to the account number: ES63 0182 2770 9102 0177 9826 (SWIFT BBVAESMMXXX).
Social media promotion
The campaign aims to reach as many people as possible through social media promotion, where well-known DJs and nightlife entrepreneurs will express their support and encourage people to participate in the collection. In their videos, they will stand in solidarity with the flood victims and appeal for help for the Valencia community.
In solidarity with those affected, all events scheduled for November in Valencia have been cancelled.
Cancellation of branch events
The International Nightlife Industry Congress, the Spanish Nightlife Industry Congress and the Golden Moon Awards Gala, which were due to take place on 19 and 20 November, have been cancelled. The events were organised by the International Nightlife Association and Spain Nightlife in collaboration with local organisations such as Valencia Nightlife and Valencia Hospitality Federation (FEHV).
The Secretary General of INA and Spain Nightlife, Joaquim Boadas, expressed his regret at the tragedy that struck the Valencia region:
“The tragedy in Valencia has shocked us all, and as a sector, we want to stand by those suffering the consequences of this terrible disaster. On the one hand, we want to express our support and condolences to the families of the deceased and missing. On the other, we want to provide direct assistance to those affected by raising funds that we will donate to the Valencia Food Bank, the Valencia Red Cross, and Caritas Diocesana.”
Boadas stressed that the goal of the campaign is to create an international solidarity movement that will enable the entire night industry to join the relief effort.
Announcement of Golden Moon Awards results
The list of “World’s 100 Best Clubs 2024” and the winners of the Golden Moon Awards in 10 categories, including the title of “World’s Best Club 2024,” will be announced on November 20 at 2:00 pm (CEST) in the form of a global announcement. The announcement will accompany a call for support for the #SOSValencia campaign, taking advantage of the international media coverage and attention generated by the “100 Best Clubs in the World” ranking.
Postponing events to 2025
Organizers have decided that the canceled events, including the International Night Industry Congress, the Spanish Night Industry Congress and the Golden Moon Awards Gala, will be held in Valencia in 2025 if possible. This is to help the region’s economy recover from the tragic effects of the floods.
